This Privacy Policy explains how Scrapitch ("Scrapitch", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use scrapitch.com and the Scrapitch service (the "Service"). Scrapitch is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY OR FOUNDER NAME], based in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide:

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and basic profile information from Google.
Content you submit. This includes the web page URLs you choose to submit and the details you enter to generate a draft, such as a description of yourself, your ask, and any highlights.

Information we process on your instruction:

Scraped page content. When you submit a URL, we fetch the publicly accessible content of that page through our scraping provider and use it only to generate your drafts. We do not retain the scraped page content after your drafts are returned.

Information collected automatically:

Usage and device data. We collect basic log data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, to operate and secure the Service.
Cookies. We use cookies that are necessary to sign you in and keep your session active.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to provide and operate the Service, to authenticate you and keep your account secure, to generate your drafts, to maintain and improve the Service, and to comply with our legal obligations.

3. AI processing

To generate drafts, the content you submit and the relevant scraped page content are sent to our third-party AI provider. Under our provider's terms, the inputs and outputs processed through its API are not used to train its models.

4. The URLs you submit and prospect personal data

You choose the URLs you submit and the targets of your outreach. Where a page you submit contains another person's personal data, you decide to process that data and you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so. We process that content on your instruction, only to produce your drafts, and we do not retain it after your drafts are returned. You are the sender of any message you choose to send, and you are responsible for your outreach, as described in our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers (sub-processors) that help us operate the Service, each of which processes information on our behalf and only as needed to provide it. These providers fall into the following categories:

AI processing, to generate your drafts,
web page fetching, to retrieve the pages you submit,
authentication and data storage, to sign you in and store your account information,
hosting and infrastructure, to run the Service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer. We can provide the current list of our sub-processors on request at hello@scrapitch.com.

6. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. We discard scraped page content after your drafts are returned. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International transfers

Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards for that transfer.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data: the right to access it, to correct it, to erase it, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Our legal bases for processing your personal data are: performance of our contract with you to provide the Service, our legitimate interests in securing and improving the Service, and your consent where required.

For your account data, Scrapitch is the data controller. For the personal data contained in the pages you choose to submit, you are the controller and we act as a processor on your instructions.

The Service is not intended for anyone under 16 years old, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
